Genesis Development of Kentucky, LLC is an existing green-energy company located in Elkhorn City, Kentucky. Founded in September 2006, Genesis Development is Kentucky’s first green energy company. We explore and develop renewable energy resources throughout Eastern Kentucky and surrounding areas turning these resources into reality. Our Company will utilize existing mountain-top / surface mining operations for the implementation and development of utility scale wind energy projects.

Genesis Development offers services necessary for wind energy projects to meet or exceed their technical and financial performance goals, maximizing project revenues while minimizing the negative environmental impacts. Our Company will seek to enter long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with companies and individuals who own title to reclaimed / abandoned mine land, and target regional electric utilities for the bulk sale of electricity generated from its green energy projects

Genesis Development is the only company in the state pursuing the development of large-scale wind farms and faces no direct competition. One unique developing aspect is a focus on the synergies and advantages of combining a wind portfolio with traditional fossil fuel holdings. With the looming economic slowdown and the volatility in other energy markets, businesses, and investors are beginning to take advantage of the developing renewable energy sector by directly investing in companies, projects, or in carbon credits as a commodity to diversify their portfolios and disperse risk.
